Vision Building Company New Hotel Construction
The newly renovated six-story, 128-room hotel and conference center will be located on the site of the former Best Western Lafayette Executive Plaza & Conference Center and will feature a full-service restaurant, indoor pool and almost 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. The new construction of the 18,000 square feet of public area will be an added expansion to the project. Dora Hotel Company (based in Fishers, IN) will operate the hotel, which is expected to open in late 2017. The hotel's exterior design aesthetic will be sleek and modern, complementing the surrounding area. The interior's overall color palette and materials pay homage to Lafayette's Purdue University with hints of black and gold. Guests will see these elements blended into the spaces with clean lines expressed in organic materials like wood, stone, and metal, which evoke a modern mid-century feel. The natural light combines with the warm, neutral color scheme to create a welcoming atmosphere, at once elegant and comfortable. DoubleTree by Hilton Lafayette East will be a premier destination for business and leisure travelers visiting the area.
Rising Star Casino - Rising Sun, Indiana
Rising Star Hotel was built in 2012 and finished in 2013. The hotel has 110 guest rooms and is a compliment to the Rising Star Casino resort, located adjacent to the Casino.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Terre Haute is an 83 room hotel with a mixture of large suites and standard guest rooms. The hotel opened in May 2011 just off Interstate 70 on State Road 41. This property is a new addition in the growing east side of Terre Haute. In addition to 83 rooms, the hotel has a fitness center, indoor pool and whirl pool and an outdoor dining area. This property has a modern, colorful feel and is Vision's latest hotel property to be completed. The building was erected with structural metal stud panels through the winter of 2010. This method of construction allowed the project to be completed on time and within budget despite the harsh winter.
Hotel Indigo Columbus is a new build which was completed in 2008. The hotel features an open lobby concept with bright, modern décor. The hotel features 85 guest rooms, indoor fitness center, indoor pool and whirlpool and 1300 square feet of meeting space. This hotel is constructed of precast concrete floor panels bearing on masonry walls. The hotel was one of the first hotel Indigo's built in Indiana, and it was a construction challenge from an interiors standpoint more so than the structure. The Indigo Franchise allows individual Interior Designers much freedom of expression, and this is reflected in both the interior and exterior details.
The Staybridge Suites City Centre, which was completed in 2008, is a new build extended stay hotel located Downtown Indianapolis, across the street from Lucas Oil Stadium. The hotel consists of 113 suites including full kitchens and multi bedroom suites. The hotel has a fitness center, indoor pool and whirlpool, guest laundry facilities and a small movie theater. This hotel is constructed of precast concrete floor panels bearing on masonry walls. As soil bearing pressures in downtown Indianapolis are poor as with any large city, a large concrete matt is the building's foundation. Unlike typical strip footings under bearing points, the entire footprint of the building has 3' of solid concrete encasing extensive rebar cages.
Comfort Suites City Centre is a 130 suite property located downtown Indianapolis, across the street from Lucas Oil Stadium, and within walking distance of the Indiana Convention Center. The hotel is a new build and was completed in 2008, and includes an indoor pool and hot tub, fitness center, restaurant and bar as well as 1200 square feet of meeting space and an outdoor patio. This hotel is constructed of precast concrete floor panels bearing on masonry walls. As soil bearing pressures in downtown Indianapolis are poor as with any large city, a large concrete matt is the building's foundation. Unlike typical strip footings under bearing points, the entire footprint of the building has 3' of solid concrete encasing extensive rebar cages.
Charwood Suites Columbus was originally built in 1996, with additional buildings built in 1997. Vision Building Company constructed 14 additional suites in 2008. This property is extended stay, and is unique in that the hotel offers apartment style living with individual duplexes.
The Staybridge Suites in Plainfield is an 88 suite extended stay hotel which opened in 2007. The suites feature full kitchens and multi bedroom suites. The hotel is located near the Indianapolis International Airport, and has an outdoor pool, fitness center and outdoor patio and grill area. This was Vision's first Staybridge product, and there was considerably more plumbing and electrical work needed with the full kitchens in every room. The project was a great success, and because of this we were awarded the 113 room Staybridge City Centre in downtown Indianapolis.
Hilton Garden Inn Fishers has 110 guest rooms and was completed in 2005. The hotel features an open lobby and 1300 square feet of meeting space. This property has a restaurant and bar with an outdoor patio, indoor pool and whirlpool and a fitness center. Similar to most of our hotel projects, this building was built with precast concrete floors bearing on masonry walls. This method of construction is superior to wood framed construction, both for fire rating purposes and guest comfort due to the low STC (sound transfer coefficient) between guest rooms, corridors, and public spaces.
Hilton Garden Inn Carmel has 110 guest rooms and was completed in 2004. The hotel features an open lobby and 1300 square feet of meeting space. This property has a restaurant and bar with an outdoor patio, indoor pool and whirlpool and a fitness center. This was our first Hilton construction project, and communication with the Hilton construction coordinator was key to the building's success. Hilton is a very demanding franchise, and Vision was able to uphold their standards. They expect a high level of quality, and their construction inspections are extremely thorough. The result of the successful Carmel project was two additional Hilton Garden Inns being awarded to Vision Building Company.
Holiday Inn Express Fishers was originally built in 1992 and had 76 guest rooms. The hotel then underwent an expansion in 1997 to bring the property to 140 rooms. During the construction of the expansion an outdoor pool was added. This was one of our first hotel projects, and 20 years later it continues to perform well and is a testament to our quality built into every project.
